(Excerpt from interview with Marut Sinclair, January 23, 2023)
Robinson Crusoe gives name and meaning to all the things that surround him, and he consequently forgets the original natural state of things. Robinson cultivates; he creates a civilized surface where everything seems calm. The 21st century is my time. On the surface a civilized, harmonious, cultural and rational time. But something lurks beneath this artificial surface; a form of reality creating the surface. And what we don't see is just as important as what we do see.
